How to Get “Plugged In”

If you are new to our church, we are so glad to have you. We desire to help you in any way we can to become a wholehearted follower of Christ. The following are the best ways for you to get “plugged in” quickly:
  1. Worship - Worship as often as you can on Sunday mornings. Take the initiative to introduce yourself to others when you are here. If others don’t introduce themselves to you, it might be because they are new also and a bit shy to take the initiative.
  2. Sunday Classes

a. While you are here on Sundays, check out one of the Adult Bible Fellowships (or ABF's for short) listed below. Most of these are organized around “life cycles” because this increases the likelihood of you having more in common with these people. If you have children, they will be ministered to in their classes while you go to yours. This makes it very convenient for families to be involved for both hours on Sunday morning.

Click here to open a document that list the Sunday morning ABF's.
b. We have also begun offering Discipleship Classes that are designed to help people intentionally grow according to their level of maturity and experience in Christ.  The following are a description of each class.

* Discipleship 101 - "Foundations" is for a new or young Christian.

* Discipleship 201 - "Framing" is for the person who has completed 101 and is seeking a deeper relationship with God.

* Discipleship 301 - "Finishing" is for the more mature Christian who wants to disciple others.

  1. Small Groups – Christian author, Larry Crabb, says, “Life change most often occurs when truth is shared in the context of a relationship.” Our small groups provide the idea environment for you to grow in Christ alongside others. We have groups of all shapes, sizes, and location. Some groups discuss the Sunday sermon, others learn from a DVD teaching, while others study topics of personal interests. Contact Pastor David Holt  if you want to get in a small group and/or lead a small group.
  1. Serve – Not only do we need to “take in”, but we also need to “give out” in order to remain fresh in our walk with God. Find a place of service based on your gifts and interests. Volunteer in some ministry and you will be blessed for doing so. Don’t wait to be asked. Just jump right in. It is OK to try several different ministries before settling in on the one that fits you best. If you have trouble finding a place of service, contact Pastor David Holt
  1. Membership – If you wish to join the church, we desire for you to attend a simple two-week class on Sunday during the 1st service, meet with Pastor Carlos, and then come forward at the close of a service. To sign up for the membership class, contact Mike and Pam Ratti or call the church office.
If there is anything we can do to better serve you, please do not hesitate to contact us at 706-769-8822. May God richly bless you through your involvement at WFBC.
